One-way Traffic Control Scheduled for the State Route 1 Lagunitas Creek Bridge Replacement Project near Point Reyes Station

Caltrans is scheduled to begin one-way traffic control on the Lagunitas Creek Bridge Replacement Project on State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) on Monday, Aug. 10. Traffic control will be in place from August until November 2026. Once work begins, the trailhead to Papermill Creek Trail near the bridge will be closed for the safety of residents and crews. The full closure of the bridge is scheduled for after Labor Day weekend in September 2027.

Replace the 1929 bridge, widen the culvert to the north, add wider shoulders, ADA-compliant sidewalk and curb ramps, and add a crosswalk at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The Papermill Creek Trail entrance near the bridge will close when work begins; the C Street entrance will remain open.
